Eleuthero

Eleuthero is the first adaptogen, in that the term itself was used by Soviet scientists in the 1940s describing Eleuthero’s functions as an herb able to serve many different purposes depending on the body’s needs. Used traditionally across Russia, China, and Korea, Eleuthero is known for increasing stamina and promoting overall health. Also known as “Siberian Ginseng,” Eleuthero is used to invigorate qi, strengthen and nourish the spleen and kidney, and to balance vital energy. In China, where it has been in recorded use for thousands of years, it has been historically used to support general health and improve endurance.

In TCM, Eleuthera is used to invigorate qi, strengthen and nourish the spleen and kidney, and to balance vital energy. It has also, strangely, been used in cases when there is sleeplessness due to too many dreams. It is considered energetically warming and relates to the spleen, kidney, and heart meridians.
