Feverfew
Native to Europe, Feverfew has been used for centuries to treat headaches, arthritis, and problems with labor and childbirth; it is also an effective preventative against migraine headaches when taken regularly. It has analgesic and anti-inflammatory actions and is used to treat joint pain, as well as relieve painful periods and sluggish menstrual flow. Feverfew also helps the body with blood clots, fever, infections, muscle pain, and strains.
A historical anecdote: feverfew once saved the life of someone who had falled from the Parthenon, the temple of the goddess Athena, hence its scientific name Parthenium.
Note: people with allergies to chamomile, ragweed, or yarrow may also have an allergy to feverfew and should avoid taking it. Feverfew may increase the risk of bleeding and should not be mixed with blood-thinning medicatinos. It is recommended to slowly lower the dose of feverfew rather than stop all at once.
